Hovering between abstraction and representation, my work focuses on emotions and thoughts to construct meanings. I explore this process based upon half-forgotten memories of living in Hong Kong. By translating distant impressions into visceral experiences, I have integrated materials and elements that are inherent references to my culture. This approach has allowed me to produce works that bear aspects of history wherein an idea revolves around the metaphor to transform personal meanings.
To include elements of community participation to my installation, my overarching aim is to promote cultural understanding for the participants, audiences and myself, increase levels of social cohesion, and contribute by catalyzing creative vibrancy and artistic innovation in the community.
